Meet Zoie, Your Bookish Guide
When you wander into Maggie’s Korner, you are stepping right into our living room — well, in spirit at least. We are the book-obsessed hearts behind this cozy corner of the internet. Born and raised in Jamaica, we moved to America as teenagers, bringing our Caribbean love for colorful stories and genres that get your pulse racing. Whether it is mafia tales, the paranormal, or classics like Animal Farm by George Orwell, we live for books that make us feel something deep.
Through years of collecting used books that always look brand new, we realized we wanted to share our obsession. Chatting our spouses’ ears off after every great read only went so far, and book clubs never quite felt like home. That is why we built Maggie’s Korner — so readers like you and us could connect, share hidden gems, and swap recommendations without leaving our favorite reading nooks.
Between reggae playlists, cups of tea, and the daily adventures of being not-quite-cool (our teens say meddling) moms, we pour our love for stories into every corner of this shop. This is a space where your next favorite read is always waiting, your suggestions are always welcome, and your passion for books is celebrated. So kick up your feet, explore, and become part of this growing family of book lovers.

About the Owner

Owner
Zoie
She loves reading — that is simply it. It is one of her greatest passions. If you are a lover of reading, you can certainly relate. Born and raised in Jamaica, she moved to America as a teenager.
Now married and a mother of two teenagers, her number one hobby is reading. She is open to any genre, but she has a particular fondness for mafia stories and the paranormal. She loves books that make her heart race or stir deep emotion (she has even shed a tear or two over a good book). After finishing a great read, she is always eager to share the story — her husband has patiently listened more than a few times. She joined several book groups on Facebook but never found a truly excellent and consistent book discussion, which she found frustrating. Eventually, she decided to create a blog to talk about the books she enjoys (not always the most popular ones) and to share her thoughts.
Her favorite book is Animal Farm by George Orwell, a story she fell in love with as a child. She likes to think she is a cool mom (though her teenagers might say she is a bit meddling — and the fact that she uses the word “meddling” may prove their point). She is a lover of reggae and soca music, and her favorite color is purple. One of her ultimate book pet peeves is the lack of romance stories featuring characters aged 40 and over.
Through this journey, she hopes to discover more of those stories and inspire meaningful conversations about them. She warmly invites readers to leave suggestions or reach out. The goal is simple: put your feet up and get the pages turning.
